Slip Resistance of Hardrock Marble Polish
Independent tests in accordance with ASTM test standards C 1028-89 have been
performed on several types of marble polished with
Hardrock Marble
Polish. In every case the lip requirement for dry surfaces of .60
was far exceeded and all except one equaled or exceeded the recommended value
of .45 for wet surfaces. Following are test values of some of the stones
tested:
| TYPE | DRY | WET |
| Negro Marquina | .73 | .45 |
| Travertine | .73 | .48 |
| Crema Marfil (worn) | .78 | .50 |
| Crema Marfil (new) | .90 | .43 |
| Trani Fiorti | .87 | .46 |
| Verde | .84 | .46 |
| White Limestone | .83 | .50 |
Please keep in mind that Hardrock Marble Polish is not a film forming product, (i.e. wax, acrylic, or other type of coating). The product reacts with certain minerals in the stone, causing glassy type crystals to be formed on the surface. Due to the fact that all marbles contain different types and amounts of these minerals each will vary in its reaction to the process. We, therefore, recommend that you have the tests performed on your floor to arrive at the slip resistance of your particular type of marble.
