The First Application
Cleaning the Floor
-
Important!!! Before
applying the first treatment of
Hardrock
Marble Polish, the floor must be completely
cleaned to remove all traces of dirt, wax and sealer.
-
Strip the floor with
Hardrock
Marble Stripper.
-
If the floor has visible grout between the tiles, use a stiff brush or scraper
to clean the grout.
-
After stripping, rinse the floor twice with clean water and
a clean mop. Allow the floor to dry completely.
-
Clean the machine to remove stripper.
Polishing the Floor
-
Shake the large container of
Hardrock
Marble polish and fill the spray bottle. Adjust nozzle
to a slight stream spray. Shake often during use.
-
Place a clean Hardrock Steel
Wool Pad under the floor buffer. As pad becomes wet and loaded with
polish, turn it over or change pads.
-
Apply polish in a 3' x 3' section of the floor. Spray 3 or 4 squirts of
Hardrock
Polish onto the floor, then buff with a side-to-side
motion until dry. Move to an adjacent area and repeat. Rotate in four sections
until desired shine appears. Then move on to four new sections.
-
For the first application, at least three treatments will be needed to obtain
desired shine. The best results have been obtained when floor has a good
shine, and feels slightly sticky when walked on.
-
Caution! Do not over
buff. Buffing dry may cause floor to be slippery.
-
After polishing, buff the corners by hand with a small steel wool pad to
remove residue and even out the shine. Then sweep with a clean dry dust mop
to remove polish residue and shavings.
Maintenance
-
Sweep the floor daily to remove dirt, dust or other grit. Spills should be
cleaned up as soon as possible with clean water.
-
Damp mop floor daily or as often as possible
with
Hardrock
No Rinse Neutral Marble
Cleaner.
-
Hardrock
Marble Polish should
be applied on a regular schedule to preserve the shine. Polish with floor
buffer and clean steel wool pads. If used on a regular basis, one treatment
should restore the shine.
-
You need not do entire floor during each maintenance. Traffic areas may be
touched up to restore even shine.
-
After maintenance, finish up as in step five above.
